Do you know how we can get an Airedale? Dear Jubilee: Do you know how we can get an Airedale? We live in North Carolina. We could go to South Carolina and Georgia. We love terriers and have a Yorkshire Terrier, but now that we are moving to a bigger house with more space, we would also like to have an Airedale to share it with us. Thank you in advance for any help. Looking for an Airedale Dear
Looking for an Airedale: Please go to www.airedale.org. Click on Choosing a Breeder. That will take you to a page where you can click on Press Here for Breeder Listings. When you get to that database, start with North Carolina, then do South and then do Georgia. Do NOT fill in any of the items under the heading List ONLY Breeders Offering These Services because a lot of people, me included, never seem to go up there and change their listings if we have puppies, etc. So leave all those things blank, and call the breeders closest to you. Tell them that you are looking for an Airedale and ask if they can help you. If they do not have puppies, ask if they know of a breeder in the area who is planning a litter. You can also go to dog shows and watch the Airedale classes; after the classes are over, and one dog has been chosen as Best of Breed, ask the people who were showing if they will talk with you about getting an Airedale. In addition, there is an Airedale Terrier
Club of Greater Atlanta. Check on the Regional Clubs page of
www.airedale.org to find out how to
contact the club. Usually someone in a regional club can suggest who might
know of dogs that are available. They may also host events where you could
meet Airedale people and learn more about the dogs. Good luck in your search, Jubilee |
